OUr story

George Yabu, Glenn Pushelberg and I created AVENUE ROAD with the pure passion of bringing the best of the design world and the undiscovered work of talented craftsman and artists to North America.

From a small studio space on Booth Street in Toronto, we convinced the iconic lines Etel, USM, Classicon and Christophe Delcourt to give us the opportunity to present them.

Clients responded strongly to our curated approach and we discovered that we had our own voice to add to the mix, launching our eponymous collection of products. The Perry Street sofa, Rua Ipanema lounge chair, and Gin Lane bar cart now have accolades and pride of place in some of the most elevated projects around the globe.

Understanding that an exceptional client experience was key to telling the story of the design, we created our 15,000 square feet flagship space in Toronto and quickly followed across the border with a 5th floor space in the flower district of New York.

As the design community took notice of our work, we created new relationships with The Rug Company and collaborated with Sebastian Herkner, Marlieke Van Rossum and Bruno Moinard.

Moving into 2016, we decided I would take full control of the business and lead the organization into the future with the goal of providing a total concept offering that would help provide solutions for our our clients' full briefs. New partnerships in fabrics with Kvadrat/Raf Simons, bespoke kitchens with Obumex, and architectural products from Glas Italia allow us to offer unique elements for every aspect of a space.

Accompanying our new products are two new, by-appointment residential concept spaces in New York and Miami, and a flagship showroom in Vancouver. We have also been working on further developing our e-commerce website.

Now it's time to bring our collection to the world with the launch of a new brand. While the business grows in new directions you can always count on expecting the unexpected from us.
