Weishaupt Design Group’s flagship brand, AVENUE ROAD, is a North American based furniture retailer, manufacturer and distributor engaged in both residential and contract markets, offering classic-contemporary designs with timeless style and enduring quality.

Reporting to the AVENUE ROAD Marketing Director, this position oversees the visual merchandising of all North American locations. This is an opportunity for a dynamic professional to have daily input into all North American visual initiatives. Duties will include, but not limited to:

Job Responsibilities

Key Function: Increasing customer sales and interest through design/merchandising of products and spaces

  • - Develop a long-term strategic vision and specific tactical plans for the overall approach to merchandising for AVENUE ROAD
  • - Ownership of client showroom experience
  • - Promotion of products/services through visual at events, PR initiatives, etc.
  • - Leadership and supervision of others (with or without a direct reporting relationship) to ensure productivity and provide assistance as required
  • - Design presentation of showroom and display spaces including creating and installing visual displays, layout of furnishings, lighting, accessories etc.
  • - Creative direction of in-house photo shoots
  • - Lead event planning and execution
  • - Develop improvement plans with a focus on increasing efficiencies, reducing execution time and methods to utilize resources effectively and driving sales through merchandising
  • - Produce monthly reports/metrics including data on transfer requests, external loans, VM suppplies/inventory

Education/Experience

  • - 5+ years experience in a similar/equivalent role
  • - Degree in Interior Design, merchandising and/or visual communications preferred
  • - In-depth knowledge of market trends and buying psychology
  • - Experience in strategic planning and change management,
  • - Proficiency in AutoCAD, ERP software (SAP an asset)
