Payroll and Benefits Administrator

Weishaupt Design Group is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator. Supporting the VP Finance and VP Human Resources, the successful candidate will be a highly motivated, confident self-starter, able to multi-task in a very fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Functions

  • - Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • - Prepare bi-weekly payroll, verify entries and input into Ceridian Canada and ADP US payroll systems
  • - Prepare monthly commission sales reports
  • - Support employee RRSP and 401K program registration
  • - Updates payroll records by entering changes and exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • - Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
  • - Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and provincial/state income and social insurance/security taxes and employer's social insurance/security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
  • - Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • - Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • - Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • - Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • - Additional Finance tasks, ad hoc projects and expense reconciliation as required

Qualifications

  • - 5+ years of payroll experience
  • - Previous experience with Ceridian and ADP payroll systems
  • - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • - Superior customer service skills
  • - Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • - Experience with full-cycle payroll
  • - Payroll designation/University degree/College diploma, an asset
