Purchasing Executive - Contract



AVENUE ROAD is currently seeing a Purchasing Executive to join their Toronto based team on a 12-month contract basis. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, this is an opportunity for a dynamic professional to have daily input into all purchasing functions with worldwide vendors to support the needs of our four North American showrooms. Duties include, but will not be limited to:

- Accurately purchase all client orders, custom orders, inventory, samples, and replacement orders and efficiently track vendor order confirmations, deposit, and balance payments
- Negotiate pricing, quantity discounts, and showroom consignment pieces
- Verify all order confirmation and invoices to ensure data accuracy, with minimal errors
- Follow up on production and lead times with all assigned vendors and ensure accuracy with all release dates
- Work strategically with vendors to plan out stock, events and brand management
- Contact vendors about any damages and product issues whilst securing the most favorable outcome for the client
- Monitor North American stock levels and advise President on any shortfalls or opportunities
- Publish lists of all inbound stock and new items
- Communicate all dates and changes with internal departments – Sales, Client Success, Logistics, and Marketing
- Take ownership of timely pricing uploads and accuracy to ensure all Sales Orders are entered correctly
- Ad-hoc reporting and other duties, as required

Desired skills and experience


- 5+years of experience in procurement of consumer-packaged goods
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, an asset
- Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical and data manipulation skills
- Ability to identify and resolve problems as they arise
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Friendly and positive, with an innate ability to build and foster relationships
- Experience with ERP systems, preferable SAP B1
- Second language, an asset
